Zmienność liści olszy zielonej - Alnus viridis (Betulaceae). [Variability of leaves of Alnus viridis (Betulaceae)].

Abstract: The variability of Alnus viridis (Chaix) DC. is presented on the basis of a morphological analysis of nine short shoot leaf features in 12 populations from the Polish Bieszczady Mts and four populations from Switzerland. Long shoot leaves of six populations have also been investigated morphologically on the basis of the same set of features.

Abstract: In the paper the variability of the leaves on the basis of biometric studies of Corylus avellana L. is characterized. As a result of the investigations great differences were recorded in the size and shape of the spring leaves (from short shoots) and the summer leaves (from long shoots).

Zmienność liści woskownicy europejskiej - Myrica gale (Myricaceae). [Variability of leaves of Myrica gale (Myricaceae)].

Abstract: The variability of Myrica gale L. is presented here on the basis of a morphological analysis of seven leaf features in 17 samples from nine localities in Poland. The morphological variability of samples was not too great and was restricted mainly to metrical characters.

Zmienność liści irgi zwyczajnej - Cotoneaster integerrimus i irgi czarnej - C. niger (Rosaceae). [The variability of leaves of Cotoneaster integerrimus and C. niger (Rosaceae)].

Abstract: The variation in leaf shape and size, both within and between local populations of Cotoneaster integerrimus Med. and C. niger (Thunb.) Fries have been studied. The differences are discussed. Karyological studies within C. integerrimus showed the occurrence of two types: 2n = 34 and 2n = 68.

Zmienność liści i pestek czeremchy zwyczajnej - Prunus padus (Rosaceae). [Variability of leaves and seeds of Prunus padus (Rosaceae)].

Abstract: The variability of Prunus padus L. is presented here on the basis of a morphological analysis of nine short shoot and long shoot leaf features of 32 scaterred populations in Poland and three populations from the Czech and Slovak Republics. In five populations seeds also were cha­racterized biometrically. Some of the material (wild and cultivated) was also investigated biochemically using two-dimensional thin layer chromatography of leaf phenolic compounds. The problem of the arctic-alpine taxon P. padus subsp. borealis (Shübeler) Nyman is discussed.

Zmienność liści jarząbu szwedzkiego - Sorbus intermedia (Rosaceae). [The variability of leaves of Sorbus intermedia (Rosaceae)].

Abstract: Basic characteristic features of the leaves from four samples of Sorbus intermedia are compared statistically in this paper. Morphological differences among the population samples were discovered, but all attempts to correlate them with their geographical distribution have so far failed.

Abstract: Chromatographic separation of flavonoid pigments (flavones and flavonols) was carried out in eleven samples of Cornus sanguinea L. All the samples had been previously studied biometrically for variability in some of their morphological features.

Zmienność liści i owoców kaliny koralowej - Viburnum opulus (Caprifoliaceae). [The variability of leaves and fruits of Viburnum opulus (Caprifoliaceae)].

Abstract: The morphology of the leaves of Viburnum opulus L. from 14 localities and the fruits from 8 localities is presented. The longest leaves on short shoots and the basal and higher leaves on long shoots were measured separately. Each leaf was studied with respect to 12 features and each fruit with respect to five features. Differences between the leaves of samples and between localities were studied.

Abstract: The fruits and some flowers taking from specimens belonging to the families Caprifoliaceae and Cornaceae were studied on the basis of their flavonoid composition.
